Hustle Anthem

So my Birthday is next week (Nov.25, Go Sagittarius).

This is my pre-Birthday present because I love the shit out

of this instrumental!

I love it so much that I broke one of my most

SACRED rules...

"Don't get high on your own supply"

This track was originally produced generally to sell,

I was putting together another catalog.

By the time I was finished mixing, a bad ass hook was created,

shortly after the verse came.

This will be an early present to myself.

Rick Ross ft. Styles-P: Blowin $$$ Fast

"Blowin Money Fast" by Rick Ross featuring Styles-P is too ridiculous.

Instant classic, one of my favorite songs of all time, bru-heem killed it.

"I got that Archie Bunker, and its all white,

I just might charge ya double"

The beat is crazy, last but not least...

Styles-P's verse was perfect for this song.

"Did I mention guns from, Red Dead Redemption
Nine mils, fifty clip extensions"

From what I hear, Ricky was a fat "Cop", basically!

But I fux with this song!!

"Lifted"

This is the last track I've made with my old Akai Mpc 1000...

Good Times, but sold it!

Reason "Rewired" with Logic has noticeable lag time.

Nevertheless, I found a way around that,

mostly used synths.

Drums, and a Ludacris sample was added using the MPC.

I liked the machine...

Will not miss it!

I love being able to "see" what Im doing (DAW).

Online, Follow, Request, etc...

I started this track some time back in Feb. 2010. Decided to finish

over my break, and did. I've mixed it a couple of times, had problems

with the BPM. Thanks to ProTools8 "Elastic Audio" I was able to correct

the problem. Originally I had the Reason4 file, with MIDI notes.

But Hard Drives crash, and I lost some shit!

Thankfully I bounced everything down, and place it in

a different server.

"Stripper Track"

Long time coming for this track.

The blueprint for this track has been laid down for months.

I've created maybe 5 different versions of this track, each one better than the last...

This is the last!

Cant figure out how to get this Arturia plug in to show up in ProTools,

(Its RTAS compatible, blah, blah, Troubleshoot, blah)

it just wont .

And Reason rewired w/ Logic is not smooth as, Reason rewired w/ ProTools.

To Keep it short, I had to do too much for this track.

The outcome is what I wanted.

"Pole Dancing" is art right?

Transformation Track

Another attempt to try hella shit went well... Again.

For some odd reason this plugin I just bought will

not show up in ProTools. And yes, its R.T.A.S/AU/VST compatible.

These couple of synth's were must have!

Plus I used some old sampled synth's I had from my OpenLabs Miko.

So I had to do allot of rewire, bouncing, and remixing.

Sounds pretty good, thinking about having a rocker do the hook for me.

My sis "C.A." says this song reminds her of me...

Well... The Neptunes heavily influenced my career....

And Jay-Z is a Sagittarius, same as me.

This is one of my favorite songs by Jay-Z, because its what I was going through.

When I first started making beats at 15 (and some years after),

people were constantly telling me what I could not do.

Mostly based on what they did not accomplish...

For hella long there has been a belief that the Bay Area would

never have success again when it comes to commercial music.

Golden State Warriors 2K

Old Warriors Logo....

Which served its purpose for that time period.

The Warriors clearly have a new team, new attitude,

and most importantly, a new path that they are headed.

This is the new Warriors logo...

I love the new look, we are in the year 2010 right??.

What I love most about this logo is

the "Bay Bridge", which symbolizes... "The Bay".

After leaving Philly, the Warriors started out in

San Francisco, then moved across the bridge to (East) Oakland.

Football wise, in the Bay Area,

there are two completely different teams.

The 49ERS are more conservative, the RAIDERS...

Well not so (Lol). The situation between the two

is territorial, its beef, its War, its not good.

(New Jersey's from what I've seen on SLAM)

Basketball in the Bay is much different.

Bay Area basketball fans, for the most part, are unified...

Its all about the Warriors!

So this is a present from the Warriors to its fans in the Bay Area.

Ragz2Riches: Mr.Robinson Throwback Track

This is a throwback!

Been a minute since I've heard it, past by it on my Ipod,

and remembered I never posted it on this blog.

This was kind of a practice track, I was basically trying to see

how fast it would take to produce a quality track.

It took a little less than an hour to complete.

I sampled Jay-Z's "99 Problems", and triggered those samples using Apple's

LogicPro's "EXS-24". This track was exclusively produced using Logic...

ChabotCollege BigBand Mix1

This is the first recording from the "Chabot BigBand Session's"

we did this semester.

My instructor Eric Shultz (Cool cat...The pic says it all), collaborated with

Chabot's Jazz InstructorJon Palacio...

And here we have a solid mix.

Like the "BigBand Mix2" below, I've mixed this track a couple times,

a lil less for this track.

Love the experience, most of all I love mixing the audio.

BookSong, a "Paris" Original

"Booksong" is an original composition,

and recording created by my classmate "Paris".

Although we did some recording in ProToolsHD,

the rest of this track was recorded using an "Mbox2".

A majority of the engineering was done by both Paris,

and one of my partners in crime, "Mr.1Man-Band"...

"Diamond".

This final mix above was my creation.

Hope you enjoy the song, she will expand on this idea.

I wouldn't mind working with her again, she's a musician.

There's another version with rap lyrics,

I'll get that soon.

...Record 1.5

When Propellerhead first dropped "Record 1.0" around my birthday... I hopped on that shit so fast, just to be a little bit disappointed in the beginning. There is nothing better than the top level, "Big Dog", DAW's: ProTools, Logic, Nuendo, Cubase. Nevertheless when using Reason sound modules within Record, everything seems too easy! Its the next best thing to Logic, as far as Midi is concerned.
The evolution of Record is taking place...
Record 1.5 "Blocks"

I want Record 1.5 mostly because of its "Rewire" capabilities with ProTools. So I can essentially use this next addition to Record, as another "RTAS" plugin if I chose.
Like Jay said, "D.O.A."

Introducing... "Neptune"

Record 1.5 looks like it has everything in place to make it an instant Legend in the world of Computer Recording.
Like other PropellerHead products, this DAW will be of much use 15 plus years from now.

So I was working hard as usual... No more classes until fall, so Im thinking about relaxation.
Not Going to happen, because of PropellerHead.
Coming soon is REASON 5, and I cant wait to get my hands on it (Im going F'n insane right about now).
Im most excited about the changes with "Dr.Rex", and the addition of another drum module.
